Chapter 58 (Felix Vyse's Perspective)

So yeah, obviously today is the 7th anniversary of September 11th, 2001. Before I get into the description of today's chapter, I would like to take a moment to express my support to the troops who are doing their best to defend the innocent and bring down those in the world who are truly evil. United States President George Bush has made many mistakes both before and during this war, yet his troops have always picked up the slack and have tried to make the world a better place. While personally I do not support the violence that is taking place throughout the world, I do praise those who are willing to risk their lives in order to save it. Of course it is not possible to immediatly, swiftly, or even safetly remove the troops any time soon; repairing the damage is going to take a considerable amount of time of calculating.

Unfortunately the way that things seems to be going nowadays; the underlying tensions between the countries, the declining numbers of limited resources, and the exponentially growing population will all contribute to the darker times that lie ahead. The lives on the line will truly be tested and more than likely, many will be lost. Thus, it is more important than ever to solve the problems of tomorrow...today! As of September 11th, 2008, a costly war is not the price we have to pay in order to set things right for the future. But the longer we wait to confront the issues, the longer that we let the tension rise, we push ourselves into a corner to where war is the only way out and the cost of war empties our soul's pocket even more than our wallets.

Are you familiar with the 7 deadly sins? Look them up on wikipedia if you don't because it is important that every person know them because the time to set our moral compasses correctly is now. If we are going to fix this world, we are going to have to make sacrifices; nothing comes for free unless it is a blessing and, sometimes, we must even give up our own personal wealth of them so that our starving neighbors can survive. We are all interconnected, either directly or indirectly, so by helping someone, you don't get screwed over which so many people tend to believe about sacrifice. Eventually, whatever you did will come back to help you; it just takes patience and some time to understand that not all rewards are simply handed out on a silver platter. Sometimes, they come in underneath the table and you might not even realize they're there until it you really need them.

But all in all, it is important that we start now at the lengthy process of creating an ideal future. Though many of us carry different views about what the ideal future is, it is important that we cooperate and communicate to reach a balance between ourselves. Of course, none of us will be entirely satisfied with the end result, no matter what, but if we can figure out how to tolerate what is different than us then the door to survival will in fact be wide open...
